I have been fascinated by all things beauty since I can remember. As a child, my favorite thing was playing dress-up with lots of makeup, and too much hairspray. A few years later, as a teen, I would spend hours listening to the radio and trying out all the hair and makeup techniques in the magazines. Some turned out better than others, but it was all good practice I suppose. In high school I started creating homecoming and prom styles on other girls, and started doing work for weddings as well.
At seventeen years old, my parents suggested I seek out a salon receptionist job, as I had already announced my intent to become a professional stylist. I walked into Michael David Hair Design soon after, and fell in love immediately. I worked there for over 10 years, before opening Audra Renè Studio in June 2010. I work daily as a hair colorist and hair cutter, and am very passionate about those avenues of creativity, as well as my special occasion work. Some of my professional highlights include my experience as a platform artist and artistic educator for Pureology, working with a two time Grammy nominated artist, having my work published in magazines including five covers and (hopefully) counting, and working with several amazing photographers both on photo shoots, editorial campaigns, and weddings. Seeing my regular clients in the salon is such a honor and pleasure for me!
I am personally invested in the work that I do, because there is no greater reward than to make someone feel more confident, simply by enhancing the wonderful attributes they possess. I believe that being a true professional means being punctual, dependable, and personable, so I strive to operate my business with this in mind. I love what I do, and I truly hope you’ll love it too.
